Mahjong Room is free, has no subscription and sells nothing. Advertising is what pays for it. This page tells you exactly who is involved, what they receive, and how to turn personalisation off.
| Format | When it appears | Optional? |
|---|---|---|
| Rewarded video | Only when you ask for one: refilling a booster, the Daily Spin, or reviving a board you have just lost. | Always. Nothing is taken from you if you decline, and nothing is given if you close the ad early. |
| Interstitial | Between rounds, after you tap Next Level, Continue or Try Again — never mid-game, never on the way out to the main menu. | No, but it is frequency-capped: it starts only from level 24 and shows at most once every 8 minutes. |
| Banner | None. The Game has no banner ads. | — |
Ads never interrupt a board in play, and the Game is fully playable offline, with no ads at all.
All advertising in Mahjong Room is delivered by Google AdMob, operated for users in Europe by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and elsewhere by Google LLC.
An individual ad shown to you may be bought by a third-party advertiser or ad network bidding through Google's ad exchange. We have no direct relationship with those buyers and cannot enumerate them here — the set changes continuously. Google publishes and maintains the authoritative lists:
We currently use no mediation networks — no AppLovin, ironSource, Unity Ads, Meta Audience Network or similar SDK is embedded in the Game. If that changes, this page will be updated before the new partner ships, and the partner will be named here with a link to its privacy policy.
What is not used: your name, your email address, your contacts, your photos, your precise location, anything you type into the Game, or your activity in other apps outside what the advertising identifier itself enables.
Personalised ads are selected using a profile built around your advertising identifier, including inferred interests and your past ad activity. They require your consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
Non-personalised ads are selected from contextual signals only — roughly, the kind of app you are in and your coarse location. They still use the advertising identifier for frequency capping, ad reporting and fraud prevention, because serving an ad at all is impossible without it.
Opting out does not remove ads. It makes them less relevant. An ad-free version of the Game is not currently offered.
Open Settings → Privacy → Ad Partners → Ads Consent & Opt-Out. This reopens Google's own consent form, where you can change or withdraw every choice you made previously, including consent for personalised advertising and for the individual ad technology providers. Your new choice takes effect on the next ad request.
The form is provided by Google's User Messaging Platform. It appears automatically the first time you play if you are in a region that requires it; in other regions the button may report that no consent form applies to you, which is expected — use the device-level controls below instead.
Mahjong Room is a general-audience game and is not directed to children. We instruct AdMob to serve ads rated “PG” at most, which excludes ads with mature, gambling, alcohol or adult content. We have no editorial control over individual ads beyond that rating. If you are shown an ad that you believe breaches it, send us a screenshot at sparkarkstudiosocial@gmail.com and we will report it to Google.
If we add, replace or remove an advertising partner, this page is updated first and the “last updated” date changes. Where a new partner requires consent, you will be asked for it in the Game before any data reaches them.
